Tot privacy policy

Tot is designed from the ground up to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains clearly what we store, why, and how you can delete it.
Who we are
Tot is an independent app made by a small family team. It is a carbohydrate calculator — nothing more. It has no connection to any medical provider, healthcare organisation, or pharmaceutical company.
What we do not collect
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your password
- Your location
- Device identifiers beyond what is needed to connect your device to your household
- Health or medical data of any kind
- Analytics or usage statistics
- Advertising identifiers
What we do store
If you create a household account:
Your sign-in is handled entirely by Apple or Google. Tot never sees your email address or
password. We store only the unique identifier that Apple or Google provides — this is used
solely to recognise you if you sign in again on a new device.
If you join a household via QR code:
You have no account. You are identified only by your device, and only within your
household. No personal information is stored.
Your household data:
The foods, carbohydrate values, and session logs you add to Tot are stored in your
household's private database. This data is:
- Only accessible to devices connected to your household
- Never shared with third parties
- Never used for advertising or analytics
- Automatically deleted after 4 weeks for session logs
How your data is protected
Your household data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (supabase.com), a trusted cloud database provider. Access to your data is enforced by strict database-level security policies — no other household can ever read or write your data.
Children
Tot is designed to be used by families, including children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Children who use Tot as a household member have no account and no personal data in the system.
Third parties
Tot does not share any data with third parties. Tot does not contain advertising of any kind. Tot does not use analytics services.
The only third-party services used are:
- Apple / Google — for sign-in authentication (Owner only)
- Supabase — for secure cloud storage of your household data
- Apple / Google — for processing voluntary in-app donations
Exporting your data
The household Owner can download a copy of all household food data and cookware weights at any time as a CSV file from Settings → Data → Export data. This file is generated on your device and shared directly via your device's share sheet — it is never sent to or stored on our servers. You can save it to your files, email it to yourself, or share it however you choose.
Log entries are not included in the export as they are session-based records that expire automatically after 4 weeks.
Deleting your data
The household Owner can permanently delete the entire household account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Household account → Delete account. This cannot be undone. All food data, logs, and member registrations are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will never introduce data collection practices that contradict the principles above without clearly notifying you.
